Special note from St Mary Magdalene Church

On Easter Day, Rev. Jonathan Lloyd has agreed to take two services in Wookey Hole. One at dawn and another one at our normal time of 9.30am.

If you haven’t been to the St Mary Magdalene Easter Dawn Service before, it takes place on the side of Deer Leap in a field. (There will be clear direction signs on the day). In previous years we have been blessed with a wonderful dawn with a sunrise during the service, and a spring dawn chorus from the birds in the nearby woods. For anyone less inclined to early starts there will be an Easter Day service at 9.30 in the centrally heated church!

A note about our next vicar:

Thank you so much for your input last month.

Caroline and I have collated the answers and these have formed part of a larger document that describes this village and the church, as well as our sister church, (St Cuthbert’s Church in Wells), to interested candidates.

The draft of this larger document is now being vetted by the Bishop and the Archdeacon of Wells and their teams.

When approved an advert will be placed based on this content seeking a suitable candidate.

Caroline and I would like to wish everyone a very happy Easter
